BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan inaugurates sewage pumping station in Ward No. 66 of Coimbatore South constituency

The Coimbatore South MLA inaugurated the sewage pumping station at Karupparayan Kovil Street in Ward No. 66 which had been set up at a cost of Rs. 16.90 lakh from the Block Development Fund.

Coimbatore: Coimbatore South MLA, Vanathi Srinivasan, inaugurated a sewage pumping station which had been set up at a cost of Rs.16.90 lakh from the Assembly Constituency Development Fund at Ramanathapuram's Karupparayan Kovil Street in Ward No. 66 of Coimbatore South Assembly constituency.

Following the inauguration, Vanathi Srinivasan spoke to the media saying, "The area has had tremendous difficulties in removing sewage for the last 30 years. Due to this, there is a lot of health hazards among the people. I had promised to fix this in the elections. Accordingly, the pumping station (waste pumping station) for the disposal of waste water has been inaugurated for public use, today.

There is also a need to provide various infrastructure facilities in the area. 'Patta' facility also needs to be provided. I am in talks with Corporation officials to provide basic amenities to the people at the place where the 'patta' facility is provided."

Replying to a question on the non-availability of sugarcane in the Pongal package, BJP MLA Vanathi Srinivasan replied, "Minister A V Velu says that this year, we will give cash instead of sugarcane. There were various irregularities in the distribution of Pongal giftslast time. What we are saying is to do what you are doing honestly without corruption. But it is not correct to say that you are not going to do it at all.

In that case, if there are many complaints about the roads, they will only close the potholes and leave the roads without complete repair. Such work is washed away by the rains. If we point it out also, it is not changed. Also, there is a big problem in the distribution of medicines in Tamil Nadu. People have not been getting life-saving medicines in Government Hospitals for over four months."

Vanathi Srinivasan also criticised a person at the Chief Minister's residence for calling companies supplying medicines to the Government Hospitals and saying that they can distribute medicines only if they are given a commission. "This Government is indirectly threatening the doctors that they should prescribe medicines according to them. If such mistakes are pointed out, the Government which is supposed to correct them is doing away with the scheme. Corruption is taking place in every Department.

If that is the case, will you give in cash in return for the assistance to be given in each Department? The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu should take action against any family forces that dominate in every Department. Usually, it is in the houses that any property isdivided. But here, in the family of the Chief Minister of the State, Departments are divided between the son and son-in-law," slammed the BJP Coimbatore South MLA.

"Steps should be taken to administer booster vaccines to control the spread of Coronavirus, which has now started spreading again. We are making a request to the State Health Department in this regard. People should also be made aware of this. The Government should also hold camps at various places and get vaccinated," added Vanathi Srinivasan even as she heard people in the area put forth their various demands.
