Former AIADMK Minister S P Velumani's name removed from bus passenger shelter in Coimbatore

The police are investigating a complaint filed on behalf of the AIADMK regarding the removal of S P Velumani's name from the name board of the bus stop shed in Kulathupalayam area of Coimbatore.

Coimbatore: AIADMK Councillor from Ward No. 90, Ramesh, Area Corporators, Kulasekaran and Madanagopal, as well as some AIADMK functionaries have lodged a complaint at the Kuniyamuthur police station in Coimbatore.

The complaint stated that in a passenger bus stop shelter inaugurated by S P Velumani, a former Minister during the previous AIADMK regime, at Kulathupalayam in Thondamuthur assembly constituency in Coimbatore district, S P Velumani's name which had been inscribed had been removed.

The AIADMK has also submitted a written request to the Deputy Commissioner of Coimbatore Corporation South Zone to immediately maintain the passenger shelter at the bus stop. Following this, the police are investigating the spot. The AIADMK leaders allege that the vandalism could have been done by someone from the DMK.

"In the bus stop shelter inaugurated by the former Minister S P Velumani in his assembly constituency during the AIADMK regime, hisname was inscribed on it. Now he is still a member of the Legislative Assembly of the constituency though under the present DMK regime. Such an incident has created a lot of resentment among the AIADMK cadres and we demand to know who did this and we want the police to take immediate action," stated the AIADMK leaders.
