District Collector Sameeran laid a wreath and paid homage to the mortal remains of Michael Swamy, an Army Jawan from Coimbatore, who died in an accident in Sikkim.
Coimbatore: Sixteen Army personnel were killed in a road accident at Zema in North Sikkim on Friday.
Four army personnel who were seriously injured in the accident were immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Michael Swamy, an army man from Teachers Colony in Karamadai, who was seriously injured in the accident was undergoing further treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Michael Swamy was last serving in the Gorkha Rifles Regiment in West Tripura. Michael Swamy's body was brought to Coimbatore by a military aircraft after an autopsy.
