Coimbatore Industrialists are confident that the New Year would augur industrial growth across industries

The US readymade garment market is doing well, and it will take three months for normalcy to return, due to the pandemic in China, most of the work orders from China would be given to India.

Coimbatore: With the dawn of the New Year the industry leaders have expressed confidence that the industry will witness good growth in the days to come.

Thirugnanam, President of Coimbatore District Small Industries Association (Codissia), said, "Industrial growth will be good in the new year. We hope that all industries will move towards an impressive growth trajectory”.

Similarly, Raghunathan, National President of the Entrepreneur's Association of India, said, "No matter how many trials come this year, i wish all the entrepreneurs succeed in their taken ventures”

While, Sivakumar, President of the Coimbatore, Tirupur District Micro and Cottage Entrepreneurs' Association (COTMA), said the central government should set up a public sector unit.

“The Government of Tamil Nadu should start a Micro Industries Development Bank. The exemption should be given from property tax and hike in electricity bills” he noted

Sastha M Raja, former president of the Coimbatore Wet Grinder and Accessories Manufacturers' Association (GAUMA), said “more challenges await the industry in the first three months of the New Year”.

“The central and state governments should come together to prevent the loss of employment of workers and implement a special scheme so that industries can contribute,” he said.

Prabhu Damodaran, Convener of the Confederation of Indian Textile Entrepreneurs (ITF), said, "There are two aspects that inspire hope in the New Year. The US readymade garment market is satisfactory. It will take at least three months to get back to normalcy due to the ongoing pandemic in China. This will benefit Indian industries.

According to Muthukumar, South zone President of the Institute of Indian Foundry Men (IIF) “the national body of the mould industry, tractor sales recorded a growth of 17.28 per cent till October last year, while the automobile sector recorded a growth of 11 per cent”.

“This benefitted the moulding industries. Most of the work orders for China are expected to be available to India in the coming days. The central and state governments should help accordingly”

Kongu Global Forum (KGF) Director Nandakumar said “there is hope that the Coimbatore airport expansion project will be completed and start functioning in 2023. There is a high possibility that new flight services in the overseas and domestic segment, including Dubai, will start in the New Year”.
