Construction worker beaten to death near Palladam in Tirupur - Relatives blockade road

Muthuselvam, a resident of Virudhunagar, who was working as a construction worker near Palladam, was beaten to death. Relatives engaged in a road roko demanding action against those responsible.

Tirupur: Muthuselvam (35) and Vijayashanthi (32) hail from Virudhunagar district. They have two sons, Gokul Guru (8) and Jayapratap (6).

For the past one-and-a-half years, Muthuselvam has been staying in a room with his friends in Kombai Kattuputhur near Mangalam in Tiruppur district and has been working in concrete centring jobs.

Meanwhile, Muthuselvam left the room at around 4 am today and did not return to the room even after a long time.

In this case, Muthuselvam's wife Vijayashanthi called to Muthuselvam's mobile phone. At that time those who attended the call said that “her husband was reportedly caught roaming around in the early hours of the morning and that they are interrogating him at the police station.”

Following this, Muthu Selvam's wife called his friends and informed them about it. Following this, his friends went to the Mangalam police station and questioned the cops. They reportedly said that they had not brought anyone here.

Later, it was reported that Muthuselvam was in a powerloom godown in Kombai Kattupudur area. Muthuselvam was in an unconscious state when his friends visited the spot and saw him.

Muthu Selvam, who was in an unconscious state, was taken to Somanur government primary health centre in an ambulance. The doctors who examined him there said he was already dead.

The Mangalam police, who came to know about the incident, recovered Muthuselvam's body and sent it to Tirupur government hospital for post-mortem.

Following this, Muthuselvam's relatives reached the spot and gathered in front of the powerloom godown. As a result, there was a tense atmosphere.

Later, Palladam DSP Sowmya and Mangalam police reached the spot and held talks with them.

According to the investigation, Muthuselvam had walked near the powerloom godown in the early hours of the morning. It was revealed that the workers, including the owner Durai Palanisamy, attacked Muthuselvam.

Muthu selvam's relatives insisted that they should take action against those responsible for Muthu Selvam's death in kombai kattupudur area.

They protested on Annur Road, saying they would not take Muthuselvam's body. Later, Palladam DSP and police held talks with the protesters. Following this, Durai Palanisamy and Soundararajan were arrested.

They are also looking for a person who is absconding. The Mangalam police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
