More than 200 NCC cadets jointly took part in a cleanliness drive on the banks of the Sungam Kulam in Coimbatore and created awareness among the people on the safe disposal of garbage.
Coimbatore: NCC students from various schools in Coimbatore district have been carrying out a cleanliness drive in various parts of Coimbatore city under the “Swachh Bharat Mission”.
The NCC cadets, as a part of the drive,removed the garbage from the banks of a tank in the Sungam area today under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
More than 200 NCC students from Sri Gopal Naidu High School, CMS Matriculation School, Sarvajana Higher Secondary School and National Model Matriculation Schools participated in the event and took part in the drive.
The cadets also created awareness among the public on zero-plastic waste, and the safe disposal of garbage by using dust bins. They carried awareness banners and created awareness among the public about the need to take care of the environment.
NCC officer Kumaran coordinated the drive.
