The denizens of the area made a representation to TN Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji, to resolve the problem after their appeal to the authorities fell on deaf ears.
A new transformer has been installed in the area at a cost of around Rs 7.5 lakh and brought to use immediately.
Periyanaickenpalayam general public thanked DMK Coimbatore North district secretary Thondamuthur Ravi for completing the task at the earliest.
DMK Union secretary C M K Kumar, Coimbatore North district DMK Deputy secretary Ashok Babu, Executive committee member Subramaniam, Former Nanjundapuram Panchayat president Sundarraj, Vice-president Thirunavukkarasu and others participated in the inaugural function and distributed sweets to the general public.
