Over 500 teachers host protest seeking action against District Primary Education Officer.


Today, over 500 members of the District Teachers Association today hosted a protest in front of the Coimbatore Primary Education Office seeking action against Gandhimathi, Primary Education Officer for Coimbatore. 

The teachers association members accused the interfering with their functioning. They also alleged that there were irregularities in printing question paper during the last three years. As a part of the protest, members of this association raised slogans against this Primary Education Officer and demanded that action is taken against her. 'The Officer has also been causing continuous problems not only to us but also the students' the agitated protestors said. 

The protesting teachers also revealed that close to 20 lakhs of increment arrears  which are due to be disbursed to them are pending for the past four years.
