Unidentified 40- year old man dies hit by train near Somanur

The Government railway police have recovered the body of an unidentified 40-year-old man who died after mowed down by a train near Somanur railway station.


Coimbatore: Podanur railway police found the body of a 40-year-old man, whose body was found lying on the tracks.



Passers-by have alerted the railway police and a police team led by Podanur Railway Police Sub-Inspector Sabari Raj rushed to the spot and sent it to Coimbatore government hospital for post-mortem.

According to the police, the deceased may have died after being hit by a train while trying to cross the railway track.

It is to be noted that the deceased person was wearing a striped yellow and red shirt. The identity of the diseased not yet established.
