An eye camp was conducted by the Regional Transport Office at Dharapuram in Tirupur district for the drivers and conductors.
Tirupur: Dharapuram Regional Transport Office in tie up with Lotus Eye Hospital, Coimbatore have jointly organized a free eye camp for the bus crew including drivers and conductors on the occasion of Road Safety Week.
The camp was held at the Regional Transport Office, Dharapuram.
The camp was presided over by Dharapuram Regional Transport Officer C Senthilkumar and RTO Kumarasan, who was the special invitee, inaugurated the camp.
At the camp, Dr Nivetha, Senior Ophthalmologist, Lotus Eye Hospital, and a team of ophthalmologists carried out eye check-up for various ailments.
Tests including eye pressure test, night blindness, muscle growth in the eye, pus in the eye, and cataract were conducted.
More than 20 people, who were found to be having eye ailments were given free glasses and advised to go for further treatment.
Thereafter, the RTO handed over the printed book and leaflets on the road rules to the attendees. An awareness demonstration was also given on road rules.
A large number of drivers, conductors and the general public, including Regional Transport Office Personal Assistant Rajaram, enthusiastically participated in the eye camp and underwent eye check-up.
