Symposium by ITF stake holders and spinning mill owners held in the city

A symposium of textile entrepreneurs across the four southern took part in a the city.


Coimbatore: The Indian Texpreuners Federation (ITF) has organized a symposium in the city to share information on issues such as market trends and quality improvement of textile sector.

Indian Texpreuners Federation (ITF) held an interactive meeting for the owners of textile manufacturing companies from four states of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Telangana, which was attended by 120 spinning mill owners from 4 states, including representatives from Andhra Pradesh Spinning Mill Association, Telangana Spinning Mill Association, Gujarat Spinning Mill Association.

Prabhu Damodaran, ITF Convener of the organisation, Chalapathi Rao on behalf of Andhra Spinning Mills Association, R.K. Agarwal, Rippil Patel of Gujarat Spinning Mills Association and Aravind Selvapathi and Saravana Sudhan of ITF took part.

The following resolutions were adopted during the symposium

Setting up committees to share things such as criteria for production, efforts to reduce production costs, technology up gradation was discussed at the symposium.

Sharing of information on cotton yield and market, quality improvement.

It was also suggested to conduct monthly online meetings, bringing about a proper understanding of the changes that are taking place in the Indian and export textile market.

Further, the meeting discussed in detail the current state of the textile industry, the opportunities for exports and the efforts to be taken to develop competitiveness.

The discussion forum also said that the textile trade to return to normalcy due to positive factors such as lower cotton prices compared to last year, reduced freight charges, reduced stock of goods with foreign customers not importing more than three months, declining inflation in developed countries, China's economy completely facing Covid emergency would also help Indian cotton industry to stabilize, the discussion forum said.
