Residents stage dharna protesting against garbage dump near Palladam

Residents staged a dharna protesting against the Panchayat administration for dumping garbage in a residential area in Vadugampalayampudur near Palladam.


Tirupur: Residents of Vadugapalayampudur panchayat have alleged that garbage is dumped and set on fire near a residential area causing health hazards and breathing problems to the residents.



More than 100 families live near the Vadugapalayampudur panchayat near in Tirupur district.



In this scenario, the people of the area have lodged several complaints with the Panchayat administration and the Block development officer alleging that the garbage dumped in the Panchayat areas causes health hazards.



As their appeal fell on deaf ears, the residents staged a dharna on the old Pollachi road to protest against the Panchayat administration.



They also said that the protest will continue till the garbage is cleared from their area on a war footing.
