Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran inaugurated a demonstration exhibition at the Collectorate premises to mark 'Humanity Week' celebrations in Coimbatore, being held from January 24 - 30.
Coimbatore: In line with Tamil Nadu celebrating its 'Humanity Week' from January 24 to 30, the Coimbatore District Collector G S Sameeran inaugurated a demonstration exhibition at the Coimbatore Collectorate premises in Coimbatore.

The exhibition shocased photographs of Government schemes, nutritious food items and their benefits, and agriculture-related notes from the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department, and the Information and Public Relations Department. The exhibition is being held from Tuesday till January 30.
As part of the exhibition, dance drama, elocution competitions and cultural programs are being conducted for students staying in Adi Dravidar Welfare Department schools, hostels and college hostels at the Coimbatore Divisional Level, on January 25.
On January 26, the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya Arts and Science College NSS students will be conducting a function in the area which is home to Scheduled Caste students studying in Higher Secondary Schools.
On January 27, a religious harmony meeting will be organised by religious leaders and Scheduled Caste scholars. A seminar on the Prevention of Atrocities Act is also being organised by the police in which judges, police personnel and lawyers will participate.
On January 28, cultural programmes will be conducted in all schools under the aegis of the School Education Department. On January 29, a socio-economic empowerment thinking meeting will be held at the District Industries Centre office with the participation of Government officials, doctors, engineers, lawyers, entrepreneurs and politicians.
The valedictory function of the celebrations will be held at the Bishop Appasamy College in Coimbatore on January 30. According to the District administration, prizes will be awarded to the winners of the competitions held as part of the clebrations.
