The 108 service is an integrated call number for emergency services such as toll-free medical, police and fire services.
This service is a completely free service available 24 hours a day to the general public. The Government of Tamil Nadu is working for the people of Tamil Nadu under the National Health Mission,Tamil Nadu through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EMRI GREEN HEALTH SERVICES for Emergency Services.
The Centre is functioning at 108 Ambulance Service, Chennai, behind the Labour Commissioner's Office, DMS Campus, Teynampet, Chennai as its headquarters.

The details are as follows;
Working hours: 12-hour shift mode (turns into night and day shift)
The basic qualifications for the driver are:
Educational Qualification: Passed 10th standard Age: Must be 24 years of age and not
more than 35 years of age at the date of interview.
Gender: Male and female. Height: Not less than 162.5 cm Driving Qualification: Light Vehicle Driving License and Badge Vehicle License.
Experience: Must have completed at least3 years after taking a light vehicle driver's license and at least 1 years of taking a badge vehicle license.
The aforementioned eligible applicants are required to bring all the original certificates related to their education, driving license and experience for verification.
Applicants coming from outside should make arrangements for transportation on their own. No separate allowance will be given for this.
Selection Process:
1. Written Test 2. Technical Examination 3. Human Resources Department Interview 4. Exam related to ophthalmology & medicine 5.Exam for road rules.
Monthly salary: Rs.15235/- (total salary). The selected candidates will be given full class room training for 10 days (accommodation will be provided during the training period)

The selected candidates will also be given full-fledged classroom training, hospital and ambulance-based practical training for 50 days. (Accommodation will be provided during the training period).
