Police are on the lookout for four persons, including two women, who snatched a four sovereign gold chain from a woman who had gone to a temple on Vaisiyal street in the city.
Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a woman in Coimbatore was robbed of her chain in broad daylight in Vaisiyal street in the city.
Bhagyavathi (63), a native of Onampalayam in Thondamuthur, took a bus to the town hall last evening and walked on the road on her way to the temple.
When she came near a private hospital on Vaisiyal street, two women came to Bhagyavathi and asked her about a bus going to Ukkadam.
Suddenly, two youths, who appeared from nowhere threatened Bhagyavathi at knifepoint before snatching the 4- sovereign gold chain she was wearing
Shocked by this, Bhagyavathi lodged a complaint with the Big Bazaar Police.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and are on the lookout for four unidentified persons, including two women who have robbed the woman.
