Police arrest five ganja peddlers in the city and seize 2.7 kg ganja from them

Five persons were arrested for selling ganja in Ganapathy and Chinnavedampatti areas of Coimbatore. Police have seized 2.7 kg of ganja from them.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police Commissioner K Balakrishnan has issued orders to all police stations to arrest drug peddlers selling ganja in the city and take appropriate action on the offenders.

Based on this, a special team led by Saravanampatti police station inspector Saravanakumar, crime branch police inspector Senthil Kumar, sub-inspector Chellamani, constables Nandakumar, Prakash and Dinesh kept a close watch.

Based on a tip-off that ganja was being stored in a house in Ganapathi area, the Special Cell police conducted a raid there.

The special cell police seized 1.5 kg of ganja from the house of Jayakumar, son of Mariyappan, Arunachala Gounder Road near Ganapathy

In this connection, a case has been registered against Mukesh Khanna (22) alias Mukhi and Jayakumar (25), son of Tamilmani of Maniyakarampalayam. They arrested them.

Similarly, Saravanampatti police in Chinnavedampatti area, while conducting a vehicle check, caught three persons who came on a two-wheeler and interrogated them.

They have been identified as Manoj Kumar (22), son of Mayilvahanam, Vimal Kumar (24), son of Murugan and Murali (30), son of Nagaraj.

The police also seized 1.2 kg of ganja from them.

Saravanampatti police registered a case against the three persons who were arrested in connection with the sale of ganja and arrested them.
