Public participate with gusto in city's summer exhibition 'Sarang'

The two-day summer exhibition titled "Sarang" was organized by the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Council at the Whispering Stones premises near Singanallur in Coimbatore on February 3 and 4.



Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Council organised a summer exhibition titled 'Sarang' on February 3 and 4 in Coimbatore.



For the first time, the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Council organized a summer exhibition at Singanallur in Coimbatore to raise funds.



The exhibition was held at the Whispering Stones premises located on Berks School Arch Road next to Singanallur.



The two-day exhibition, which began on May 3, featured readymade garments and other items to be worn during summer months.

Bhupal Reddy, Senior Commissioner, Income Tax Department, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the exhibition.

Sabitha Chandran, former Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Council, lit the lamp on the occasion.



The exhibition featured a large number of products made by various artisans from across the country, innovatively designed garments with constant engravings, which were carefully produced by the younger generation.



In addition, a variety of home furnishings and jewellery were put up for sale at the exhibition.



A large number of people from various areas of the city visited Sarang and actively bought clothes, decorations and handicraft items.

In the meantime, the exhibition also showcased Kongunadu cuisine, Sushi, salad bowl, chocolate, pattisseriye, juice, sandwiches, ice cream and local delicacies to give participants in the fair a delicious spread of food.
