Two transgenders arrested for extorting money from a city businessman

When Chandran was approaching 7th Street near Bharat Electronics, two transgender persons, blocked his car near a speed breaker and demanded Pratap Chandran for money.


Coimbatore: Police arrested two transgenders for allegedly blocking a businessman's car at night time in Coimbatore and extorting money from him.

Prathap Chandran hails from Dharani Nagar in Coimbatore and he is a businessman.

He had gone to his friend's house in Gandhipuram 100 Feet Road area, and was returning home in his car around 11 pm yesterday when two transgenders blocked his car.

When he was approaching 7th Street near Bharat Electronics, two transgenders, blocked his car near a speed breaker and demanded Pratap Chandran for money.

The transgenders abused him and showered him with expletives and forced him to pay them money.

Also, the transgender snatched away Rs 2,000 from Pratap Chandran's pocket.

Shocked by this, Pratap Chandran lodged a complaint with the Ratnapuri police station in this regard.

Based on this, the police registered a case and questioned the two transgenders, Vanisha and Ramya.

The police arrested both of them after they admitted to robbing Chandran by stopping his car.
