Coimbatore South BJP MLA distributed requirements worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs and addressed students encouraging them to comprehend the value of education at the City Corporation Higher Secondary School. She also appealed for establishing strict law and order enforcement in Tamil Nadu.
Coimbatore: Protests erupted at the City Corporation Higher Secondary School on Variety Hall Road in Coimbatore to condemn placing of political banners within the school premises during the event of distribution of school requirements.
A Velliangiri, the Head Master of the school intervened in the situation after which the banner was removed and placed at the school frontier.
Vanathi Srinivasan, National President of the Mahila Morcha, and BJP MLA of Coimbatore South distributed requirements worth Rs. 2.5 lakhs and addressed the students encouraging them to comprehend the value of education at the City Corporation Higher Secondary School.
As part of the MLA Fund, school requirements including seaters for the school's computer laboratory were distributed.
Later while addressing the media, with regard to the broad daylight murder at the District Court on February 13, Vanathi Srinivasan alleged that the ruling state Government is liberal in law and order enforcement in the State, especially in Coimbatore. While she appreciated the efforts of the police to arrest the accused within 24 hours of the incident, she appealed to the Government to prevent such crimes and to also reduce the rate of crime in Coimbatore, by maintaining a balanced law and order within the State.
In addition, she appealed that Coimbatore must be transformed like Chennai in terms of beautifying certain locations and flyover pillars.
Vanathi Srinivasan also requested the Corporation to expedite its measures to establish good roadways which have long caused inconvenience to the public. She alleged that cadres of the current State Government exploited their authority to commit crimes and trespass laws.
