BJP state President Annamalai warned that he would stop trucks along with BJP caders at 11 check-posts around Pollachi if the ongoing looting of minerals in Tamil Nadu was not stopped by the Government authorities.
Coimbatore: BJP state president Annamalai participated in the massive protest staged by BJP South district at Kinathukadavu Arasampalayam division against the smuggling of mineral resources to Kerala.
More than 1,000 BJP cadres, who participated in the massive protest, raised slogans urging the Government to stop the smuggling of vital mineral resources to Kerala from Pollachi and surrounding areas.
Speaking at the protest, BJP state president Annamalai alleged the Tamil Nadu government was handing over the mineral resources of Tamil Nadu to Kerala.
"If the Government doesn’t act and stop the smuggling of mineral resources in trucks within 20 days, I will step into the scene and stop the trucks along with BJP workers at all the 11 checkpoints in and around Pollachi," Annamalai said
BJP district in-charge Mohan Mandirachalam, State general secretary Muruganantham, Farmers' wing state president G K Nagarajan, Farmers' wing state vice-president Kumaresan, S Mettupalayam panchayat president Santhakumar, BJP district vice-president Dhanabalakrishnan, District media cell president Elangovan and a large number of BJP leaders and cadres participated in the protest.
