"Two video clips of North Indian migrant youth workers being attacked are fake and related to two incidents that had earlier occurred in Tamil Nadu. This has nothing to do with north Indians. Do not spread fake videos," warned DGP Shailendra Babu.
Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu DGP Shailendra Babu has clarified that the two video clips that have surfaced on social media in which youth from Bihar are being attacked is fake. A few days ago, two videos of young migrant workers from Bihar working in Tamil Nadu being attacked by locals went viral on social media, especially in Northern states, including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh.
This led to a wrong impression among the people living in those states, and the Tamil Nadu Police had to refute that the reported asaults in the videos had taken place. In this regard, a video was released by the DGP Shailendra Babu in which he stated, "Two fake videos are being circulated on social media which show Bihari workers are being attacked.
Those videos are false and fake. Both the videos have already been released distorting two different incidents that had happened earlier. While one of the videos shows Bihari workers clashing in two groups in Tiruppur, another video is of a clash with locals in Coimbatore. The truth is that law and order is well-maintained in Tamil Nadu. Do not let the public spread fake videos on social media."
