Coimbatore: The police have arrested two persons for allegedly murdering a labourer from North India over a love affair.
Periyanaickenpalayam police received information that a 38-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a private place in Bharathi Nagar on the Gudalur Koundampalayam-Kattanji Hills route in Periyanaickenpalayam police station limits of Coimbatore district.
Acting on the information, the police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem. During investigation, it was found that the deceased has been identified as Sanjay Chaudhary, son of Anand Chaudhary, a native of Bihar. He was working in a private company in Mathampalayam area near Periyanaickenpalayam.
The police were investigating the possibility that Sanjay Chaudhary may have been murdered. On the orders of district superintendent of police Badri Narayanan to nab the culprits, six special squads were formed under the leadership of Periyanaickenpalayam Deputy Superintendent of Police Namasivayam.
During the intensive investigation by the Special Cell police, wife of the deceased Sanjay Chaudhary and his uncle's son Mukesh Shani (34), had been in affair for the past one year.
In this case, Sanjay Choudhary used to go from time to time and persuade his wife to accompany him. Mukesh Shani, along with his friend Deva alias Kupendran (29), hatched a plan to kill Sanjay Chaudhary.
On the day of the incident, Sanjay Chaudhary was brought alone and the three men consumed liquor. Sanjay Chaudhary and Mukesh Shani had an argument. Enraged over this, Mukesh Shani severely attacked Sanjay Chaudhary and strangled him to death using his lungi(dhosti).
Deva had helped in this. The Superintendent of Police of Coimbatore district and senior officials lauded the special forces for acting swiftly and arresting the two murderers within 24 hours.
