Hence, Thirumoorthy Malai is one of the best tourist and spiritual destinations in Udumalpet.
The temple is situated at the foot of the forest and a large number of monkeys live there. They are jumping from tree to tree, jumping into the water and swimming, tourists are delighted to see the monkey pranks running here and there.
Especially the children who see monkeys have no limits. As a result, they too were giving the monkeys the food they had brought with them.
In this context, there is a lot of movement of tourists and devotees in the temple area. While the monkeys have seen the food, the public is in fear as the tourists and the public are picking up the food items.
There have also been instances of monkeys chasing if they don't give food at some point of time.
Due to this, the tourists have requested the forest department to capture the monkeys in cages and release them in the forest areas.
