Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap conducts inspection in Coimbatore North, West and Central zones

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap personally inspected the ongoing cleanliness works and smart city projects in the areas falling under the north, west and central zones of coimbatore corporation and instructed the officials.


Coimbatore: Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap inspected the ongoing works in various zones of the corporation.



Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Prathap inspected the segregation and collection of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste by the corporation's sanitation workers in Muthu Nagar area under ward no.2 of Coimbatore Corporation's North Zone.

He instructed the sanitation workers to create awareness among the public in the area to classify the garbage into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.



Later, the Corporation Municipal Commissioner, who enquired with the staff about dengue mosquito control works in the area, inspected the mosquito control records and issued instructions to them.



Subsequently, Corporation Commissioner Prathap visited the Micro Composting Centre in Thudiyalur Market area under Ward No.2 of North Zone and inspected the activities.



Later, he directed the concerned officer to take necessary steps to maintain the storm water drain treatment plant in Cheran Nagar area and drain out the water.



Subsequently, he personally visited krishnampathy lake in the western zone and inspected the ongoing restoration work of the tank at an estimated cost of Rs.19.36 crore under the Smart City Project. He then directed the concerned officials to complete the works in a quality and expeditious manner.



Subsequently, he reviewed the rehabilitation and improvement works at Ukkadam Periyakulam under Central Zone at an estimated cost of Rs.62.17 crore under Smart City Project.



He also personally inspected and reviewed the ongoing rehabilitation and improvement works in Ukkadam Valankulam at an estimated cost of Rs.67.86 crore under Smart City Project. He then directed the concerned officials to complete the works in a quality and expeditious manner.



Subsequently, construction of dining hall and open air auditorium at Vadakarai in the North Bank of The City Project at an estimated cost of Rs.67.86 crore at Valankulam in Central Zone was taken up.



He also personally inspected the ongoing works under the Smart City Project at the government hospital bus ground.



Councillor Pushpamani, Assistant Commissioner Mohanasundari, Executive Engineer (Jnnurm) P. Umadevi, Assistant Executive Engineer Senthil Bhaskar, Assistant Town Planning Officer Vimala, Regional Health Officer Radhakrishnan, Assistant Engineers Jainraj, Barman Ali, Saravanakumar, Kamalakannan and corporation officials were present during the inspections.
