Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam has launched a novel protest in which the ashes of the victims who ended their lives after losing money to online gaming was sent to the TN Governor.

Accordingly, more than 50 cadres of Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam visited the Post office near the District Collectorate under the leadership of TPDK General secretary K Ramakrishnan to send the ashes.

They carried placards and banners along with the Governor's photo and raised slogans.

They then tore up such playing rummy cards after which the police arrested the protestors and took them away.

Speaking to reporters, K Ramakrishnan said “The Governor of Tamil Nadu has been neglecting and delaying the passage of various bills passed in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. In the end, he is saying that the Tamil Nadu government has no power to enact such a bill”.

“In Tamil Nadu, so far 44 people have lost their lives due to this online rummy game. It seems the Governor has no intention of banning online gaming. Instead, the Governor holds consultations with the online rummy companies” Ramakrishnan alleged.
