Policing intensified in the District court complex, following acid attack on a woman

In the wake of the recent incident, police have been deployed around the Coimbatore Combined Court complex to monitor and screen the visitors.



Coimbatore: Following the incident of acid attack on a woman in the Coimbatore combined court premises, the public coming to the court and their vehicles are allowed by the police only after rigorous screening.

In a shocking incident, a man hurled acid at his wife in a combined court on Thursday.

Siva and Kavitha from Ramanathapuram have been living separately for the past three years due to marital discord.

Husband Siva entered the court premises and poured one litre of acid on his wife Kavitha. Kavitha, who suffered 85 per cent burns is undergoing treatment at a CMCH.

Siva, who tried to escape after pouring acid, was caught by the public and lawyers and handed over to police.



In the wake of the recent incident, police have been deployed around the Coimbatore Combined Court premises to monitor and screen the visitors.



Visitors and vehicles are only allowed inside the court premises after thorough screening.



Police protection has been put in place at other entry points and only lawyers and judges are allowed to pass through them.



Lawyers have welcomed the action taken by the Coimbatore police to keep the court premises free from violence and unlawful activities.
