Cotton was sold for Rs 1.20 crore at an indirect auction held at the Mulanur regulated market near Dharapuram. The maximum price is Rs 8099 per quintal and the minimum price is Rs 8,099 per quintal. The average price was fixed at Rs 6,100 and rs 7,150.
Tirupur: An indirect auction of cotton was held at Mulanur regulated market in Tirupur district.
Of these, 619 farmers from Tirupur, Karur, Trichy, Dindigul, Erode and Coimbatore districts had brought cotton.
Traders from Tirupur, Dindigul, Erode, Salem and Coimbatore districts participated in the indirect auction to procure these items.

The maximum price by traders is Rs. 1,000 per quintal. The minimum price is Rs 8099, the minimum price is Rs 6100 and the average price is Rs 6,100. 7150 was fixed.
Accordingly, 5,473 bags of cotton (Rs 1701.44 per quintal) were auctioned by 22 traders for Rs 1,20,91,276/- per quintal. This information was informed by Senior Secretary Tiruppur Sales Committee Kannan (in-charge).
Superintendent Sivakumar had made arrangements for the auction.
