Coimbatore: City traffic police conducted special vehicle checks at 10 vital junctions and places in the city, including Pollachi Road, Palakkad Road, Marudhamalai Road, Perur Bypass Road and Kalapatti Road.
The police lauded 429 two-wheeler riders who were riding two wheelers wearing helmets.

Out of 443 two-wheeler riders who were driving without wearing helmets, 350 persons were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act and 93 persons were sent off with stern warning.
. Also, 68 motorists were booked under the Motor Vehicles Act for driving without a registration number.
Similarly, for the two-wheeler riders who came without helmets, awareness classes were conducted through voluntary organizations at the children's traffic park.
Further, 429 two-wheeler riders who travelled wearing helmets were felicitated and advised to follow the safety guidelines.
