Transgender persons attack push-cart vendor near Palladam, video goes viral

Tirupur: A push cart vendor Muthu, in NGR Road in Palladam was allegedly attacked by transgender personswho waylaid him in themiddle of the night and picked up a quarrel with him.

According to sources, Muthu hails from Gandhiswaranpudurai in Manur taluk of Tirunelveli district. He lives with his family in Periyar Nagar on Manickapuram Road in Palladam.

Muthu, who runs a push cart shop on NGR Road, was returning home when a transgender allegedly got into an argument with him.



After Muthu reached his house, about five transgenders threw stones at Muthu's house andattacked Muthu with sticks in front of his family members.



The CCTV footage of the transgenders attacking Muthu has now gone viral in social media.



Muthu sustained serious injuries in his mouth and nose and has been admitted to Palladam government hospital for treatment.

Police are investigating the incident.
