CM Stalin allocated Rs 223 crore for renovation of roads in the district - Minister Senthil Balaji

“Over 70 percent of the road works, which have been take up are nearing completion too. Similarly, the roads dug up for UGDS are being re-laid in a speedy manner ” the Minister noted.



Coimbatore: Alleging that the previous AIADMK government has not given due importance to road renovation works, Minister Senthil Balaji said the Chief minister M.K. Stalin has allocated Rs 223 crore for 121 km of road works so far in the city and district.

While briefing the reporters, Minister Senthil Balaji said that various developmental works would be executed at the cost of Rs. 32.78 crore in the various assembly constituencies including Singanallur, Coimbatore South and North, Thondamuthur and Kavundampalayam.



The minister, who inaugurated the re-laid road works at Kempatti Colony in Coimbatore South constituency, later said various works are being inaugurated today, especially road works, for which tender has been floated.



“Over 70% of the road works, which have been taken up, are nearing completion too. Similarly, the roads dug up for UGDS are being re-laid in a speedy manner ” the Minister noted.

Stating that for the Metro rail project, the DPR will be finalised and the work will commence soon , Minister Senthil Balaji said that development projects are being given to Coimbatore by the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister is taking care of Coimbatore in an appreciable manner.

“Projects such as Semmozhi Park and the Ezhil Migu Kovai '' are very special projects for the growth of the Coimbatore” the minister noted.

Responding to a question on the works of Vellalore bus stand, Minister Senthil Balaji quipped that he cannot answer a question in three minutes, for which 30-minute is needed.
