Youth arrested under POCSO Act near Sulur

Hari, a college student from the Kangayampalayam area near Sulur, was dating an 11th-class girl of the same area.



Coimbatore: A youth, who abducted a schoolgirl in Sulur was arrested under the POCSO Act.

Hari, a college student from the Kangayampalayam area near Sulur, was dating an 11th-class girl from the same area.

It was reported that the college student lured the girl to accompany him and took her along with him to many places.

The parents of the girl registered a complaint as their daughter did not return home.

Based on the complaint, the Sulur police took up investigations and arrested the college student.

The two were spotted near Peelamedu bus station and the police immediately took them under custody. During interrogation, it was revealed that the college student had persuaded the schoolgirl to accompany him.

Police, who registered a case, arrested the college student under the POCSO act. He was remanded in custody.
