Coimbatore: A 74- year old man Rajasingham of Nallampalayam, staged a novel protest at the District collector's office with a blindfold and half- tonsured head, alleging that no reply has been obtained from the authorities for an RTI petition, which he filed back in 2022.

Alleging that multiple reminders to the District collector and the City Corporation went unheeded, he said he has recently done his 8th RTI appeal to the district administration seeking information on Underground drainage system implemented in corporation ward 44.

While speaking to Simplicity he said that vital information such as date of initiation, fund allotted, total expenditure, total beneficiaries and project management closure details were raised in the RTI for which no reply was received till date..

Peeved at the delay, Rajasingham said, "This information is for the entire community and maintaining public health. I strongly condemn the district administration which failed to reply to my RTI queries which is against the spirit of the RTI Act”.
