The summer festival in Nilgiris District for the current year is scheduled to kick-start on May 6 at Ooty. The renowned Ooty Flower Show will begin on May 19 and will continue till May 23, according to the Nilgiris District Collector, S P Amrith.
The Nilgiris: A meeting on the yearly summer festival of Nilgiris District was held at the new Collectorate in Ooty, under the chairmanship of the Nilgiris District Collector, S P Amrith.
"The summer festival will begin from May 6. As a first step, it has been decided to hold the 12th Vegetable Fair at the Nehru Park in Kotagiri for two days on May 6 and 7.
Subsequently, the 10th Spice Fair will be held at Gudalur on May 12, 13 and 14.
It has also been decided to hold the 18th Rose Exhibition at Ooty Rose Park on May 13, 14 and 15.

The 125th flower show will be held on May 19, 20, 21, 22 and 23 at the Botanical Garden in Ooty.

At the meeting it was also decided to hold the 63rd workshop at Sims Park in Coonoor on May 27 and 28," stated the Nilgiris District Collector, S P Amrith.
The Joint Director of the Horticulture Department, Siva Subramaniam, District Revenue Officer Keerthi Priyadarshini and other officials were present at the meeting.
