In a shocking incident, a lawyer, Suresh Kumar, broke open the lock of his house at Nallampalayam in Coimbatore and stole a sovereign of gold jewellery and Rs 40,000 in cash.
Coimbatore: Suresh Kumar is a resident of Sabari Garden 6th Street, Nallampalayam, Coimbatore. A lawyer, he along with his wife and daughter visited the Mookambika temples in Udupi in Karnataka.
It is learnt that the watchman, who lives on the top side of the house, had given the keys of the compound gate to the plants to take care of water and at night.
In this case, the watchman noticed that the lock on the front grill door was broken while watering the plants and that the main door inside the house was lying open and informed the owner.
Immediately, they informed the relatives and went with the police and found that the wooden cupboard in the house had been broken and a sovereign of jewellery and Rs 40,000 in cash had been stolen.
Thudiyalur police have registered a case in this regard and are on the lookout for the miscreants involved in the theft.
