Goods worth Rs 5 lakh looted in Dharapuram, co-operative central bank official's house looted by unidentified miscreants

In a shocking incident, miscreants broke open the lock of a co-operative central bank official's house in Dharapuram and looted goods worth Rs 5 lakh, including gold and silver.


Tirupur: Chellamuthu lives with his family on 6th Street in Ashok Nagar area near Dharapuram in Tiruppur district.

He works as an officer in the Kundadam Central Cooperative Bank. His wife, Kavitha, works as a supervisor in a land bank.



He had gone to the Central Cooperative Bank yesterday and when he came home in the evening, the lock of the back door of the house was broken.

When they went inside, they found that nine sovereigns of jewellery, diamond earrings, jewellery worth Rs 1 lakh and rs 3 lakh in cash kept in the cupboard had been looted by the miscreants.



Chellamuthu lodged a complaint with the Dharapuram police station. The Dharapuram police have registered a case and are investigating.
