The DMK government facing backlash in just two years - Edappadi Palanisamy in Coimbatore

AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami was felicitated at a private hall in Kalapatti area of Coimbatore. Speaking on the occasion, he criticised the DMK for being a government that is facing hatred from public in the last two years.

Coimbatore: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami on Saturday said the DMK has been facing hatred from public in just the last two years.

Edappadi Palanisamy's first visit to Coimbatore after taking oath as AIADMK general secretary was welcomed and felicitated at a private hall in Kalapatti area of Coimbatore. AIADMK legislators SP Velumani, Amman Arjunan and others participated in the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Palaniswamy said that he has been facing a lot of problems after the death of Amma (Jayalalithaa) and expressed gratitude to all those who elected him as the general secretary.

He continued, "I have taken over as General Secretary after joining as a simple worker when the two great leaders of Puratchi Thalaivar and Puratchi Thalaivi were in the post of General Secretary.

But in the DMK, it is not possible to do so and only the heirs have come to the post of president. AIADMK is the only democratic party in India. In no other party can a simple worker come to a higher level.

"The DMK is functioning like a company and in the DMK, both in power and in the party, people from the same family occupy the top positions.

He said the AIADMK had given a golden rule when it was in power and in just two years, the DMK had become a government that faced people's hatred.
