Spark 2026, the First Year Orientation and Freshers' Day, was held on 17 September 2026 at Park Group of Institutions' Prema Ravi Auditorium in Karumathampatti for 1243 students admitted across 23 engineering courses in 3 engineering colleges and one architecture institute. Vijay TV's Erode Mahesh was Chief Guest, joined by Chairman Dr. P. V. Ravi and CEO Dr. Anusha Ravi. The event opened with an AI-composed prayer song by students Allan Joshva and Kevin Joe. Highlights included a poem by IT student Sri Saranya and felicitation of the first 10 students who enrolled before results were announced, honoured with AI-crafted image mementos.

The function began with an AI prayer song composed by Allan Joshva and Kevin Joe of Park Institutions, followed by the lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest, Vijay TV fame Erode Mahesh, along with Dr. P. V. Ravi, Chairman, Park Group of Institutions, Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO, Park Group of Institutions, and other dignitaries on stage.
Dr. N. S. Sakthivel Murugan, Principal, Tamilnadu College of Engineering, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Prince, Director, Placement & Training, Park Institutions, spoke about placement opportunities and the training provided by the institution. Dr. Lakshmanan, Principal, Park College of Engineering and Technology, Prof. Suresh Kumar, Director, Tamilnadu School of Architecture, and Sathish Kumar, General Manager, Park Group of Institutions, felicitated the gathering.
Dr. Anusha Ravi warmly welcomed the students and parents. She shared her inspiring journey, the struggles faced by parents, and the responsibilities of students, encouraging them to make their parents proud through discipline, education, and continuous self-improvement. She highlighted the growing opportunities in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics, and urged students to develop industry-ready skills and stay focused on their goals. She also emphasized the importance of attendance, discipline, and social skills for a successful career.
Dr. P. V. Ravi inspired students to dream big, value education, and take responsibility for their future. He emphasized creativity, innovation, and continuous learning in the age of AI, while encouraging students to reduce distractions and develop their knowledge and skills.
Chief Guest Erode Mahesh delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing self-belief, discipline, adaptability, resilience, kindness, and a positive mindset. He introduced the SPARK concept — Self-belief, Problem Solving, Adaptability, Resilience, and Kindness — and encouraged students to develop their unique abilities without comparing themselves with others. He also highlighted the importance of communication skills, continuous learning, innovation, and strong character in achieving personal and professional success.
As an innovative exercise, the management of the college asked the students to write a letter to their future self. Sri Saranya, a first-year IT student at TCE, wrote a wonderful poem and was given a chance to read it out to the audience.
