On November 16, 2018, Kashi hosted the Kashi Tamil Sangam event. From 12 various locations in Tamil Nadu to Kashi by special trains, about 2500 people registered online for this. The Kashi Tamil Sangh event in this instance was attended by Tulsi Ammal and Rajamani from the Muthugoundanpudur neighborhood of Sulur, who also wrote a message to Prime Minister Modi about the event.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, responded to this in a letter penned in Tamil, stating that everyone can feel the diversity of India.

Tulsi Ammal has overexcitedly reacted to the response and the news that has since circulated about it online. According to Tulsi Ammal, attending the Kashi Tamil Sangh event was a joy. She also toured the temples there, including the Ram temple, where the locals warmly greeted the Tamils. The programmes conducted at the Kashi Tamil Sangh, she said, "help in the development of Tamil and enhancement of Tamil Culture. We had written a letter to Prime Minister Modi regarding them."
