The district headquarters hospital at Kangayam in Tirupur district has been upgraded, and health minister Ma Subramanian unveiled a plaque to commemorate the occasion. The other construction projects being built at a cost of Rs 12 crore were also reviewed by him.
Tirupur: Kangayam Government Hospital in Tirupur district has just been promoted to a head quarters hospital status.
Following this, Medical and Health Minister Ma Subramaniam unveiled the name board of the Kangayam Government Headquarters Hospital during a visit to Tirupur district.
He personally examined the construction work of the extra building, which has been upgraded to the district headquarters hospital at a cost of Rs 12 crore.
This was followed by the construction of a Primary Health Centre in Chavadipalayam, Kangayam Taluk, at a cost of Rs.48 lakhs, and a Sub-Health Centre in Nambiyampalayam, Avinashi Panchayat, at a cost of Rs.30 lakhs. Health Minister Ma Subramanian also dedicated buildings worth Rs 1.03 crore, including a Rs 25 lakh health sub-centre in Thayampalayam in Pongalur Panchayat Union.
M. P. Saminathan, Minister of Information and Publicity, and medical department officials also attended the event.
