Vande Bharat express receives a grand welcome by BJP cadres upon its arrival to Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Vande Bharat Express receives a grand welcome during its arrival at Coimbatore Railway Junction on Saturday at 11.05 pm.



BJP cadres offered garlands and flower showers to the passengers of Vande Bharat during its first service arrival at Coimbatore. Bharatiya Janata Party MLA representing Coimbatore South constituency, Vanathi Srinivasan was one among the passengers of the 'Make in India' train that arrived on Saturday.



Vanathi Srinivasan shared her journey experience with the media. She said, "Under the eminent leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an indigenous express Vande Bharat has earned an incredible mark in Indian History. It features the Amenities of airways into railways which enables passengers more comfort and safe travel. Its momentum is incredibly sharp, facilitating long-distance travel within a limited time frame. It also is a key factor in stimulating trade connection between major cities."

Further, she noted that with the increase in the demand among the public for this service, a proposal for more compartments will be implemented. Alongside regarding the expensive nature she added, "Since this is a completely Air Conditioned service the fair is competitively high but with more public showing interest in this travel, measures to reduce the fair for the common man's travel will be initiated. As of now, this is a beginning for an indigenous model of development." Significantly a special railway service connecting Coimbatore and Bangalore has been a long-time request for which the upcoming proposal of Vande Bharat Express between these two cities is prominent.

This super-fast express travels at a speed of 130 kmph to a maximum of 180 kmph, covering a total distance of 490 kilometres within an estimated time of 5 hours and 15 minutes. The ticket fares range from Rs.1,057 to Rs.2,310 categorized for Chair Car (CC) and Executive Class (EC) respectively.

But the first service witnessed a delay in the departure at Coimbatore due to additional station halts, this being the first service.

Facilities for impaired people are noteworthy, wherein the best assistance is offered. Braille for the visually impaired has been installed which makes the journey identical for all people.

The other passengers who travelled on this super-fast express conveyed a pleasing note of fulfilment which is an optimistic approach for this indigenous innovation into the southern railways, especially to Coimbatore City.
