My Garbage My Responsibility: Special cleaning work in Dharapuram Municipality; authorities create awareness among the public

On behalf of Dharapuram Municipality, the public has undertaken a special cleaning work under the 'My Garbage My Responsibility' scheme to keep their surroundings clean. Mayor Pappu Kannan inaugurated the awareness programme.


Tirupur: A project titled "My Garbage Is My Responsibility" has been launched in Dharapuram Municipality to create awareness among the public about keeping their surroundings clean.

Dharapuram Municipality and Nagar Mandram in Tirupur district jointly organized an awareness programme among the city public about the project "My Garbage is My Responsibility".

Municipal Commissioner Rama presided over the event, which was held near NCB Boys Higher Secondary School in Dharapuram Municipality. Mayor Pappu Kannan presided over the function and inaugurated the programme.



More than 25 sanitation workers of the municipality and the municipal council president and the municipal commissioner assembled at the same place and cleaned up all the garbage dumped by the local traders and the general public on the road leading to the uzhavar market next to the municipal school through mass cleaning.



The city council president distributed pamphlets with awareness slogans emphasizing "My garbage is my responsibility" to residents and the general public passing by.

Then, it is up to you to keep your surroundings clean.



Thus an undertaking was taken emphasizing that the spread of the disease in your area can be prevented as a precautionary measure and the spread of the disease can be prevented to the general public passing through the area.

City council vice-president Ravichandran, ward councillors Srinivasan, Mubarak Ali, municipal sanitation workers, people from Anna Nagar area and others were present on the occasion.
