The forest authority has warned tourists to be cautious because a lone male elephant is blocking and attacking vehicles near the Pungan Odai bridge on the Udumalpet-Munnar road.
Tirupur: The forest department has warned travellers to be cautious on the Udumalpet-Munnar road.A huge number of visitors visit Maraiyur from Udumalpet in Tirupur district to Munnar in Idukki district of Kerala.
Due to insufficient monsoon rains and drought conditions in the Western Ghats, wild animals such as elephants, wild cows, and deer have flocked to the Amaravati Dam.

In this case, there is only one male elephant camping in the area between Ezhumalaiyan koil and Pungan Odai bridge. Buses, lorries, and tourist cars are being blocked, and spectacles are being destroyed and threatened.
According to the forest authorities, an alone elephant is blocking vehicles and attacking them at the Pungan Odai bridge. They stated ,As a result, the forest department has encouraged motorists on this road to exercise caution.
