Filmmaker Suseenthiran participated in a short film festival titled 'South Indian Level Records' held at PSG Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. He said success in the film industry is possible only if he overcomes various difficulties.

Coimbatore: A south Indian-level short film festival was held at PSG Arts and Science College, Coimbatore. The function was presided over by college principal D Brinda. College vice-principal A Anguraj presided over the function.

Director Suseenthiran, who has directed films like Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu, Naan Mahaan Alla and Pandiya Naadu, was the chief guest at the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Suseenthiran said, i directed my first short film in 2003. But at that time, I didn't get the opportunity to screen the short film. But now, students studying visual communication are screening their short films at such a festival. This makes me very happy.

Every student should treasure the short film that he/she takes in his first attempt. Over time, the first short film will be the yardstick for predicting how your skills have improved.

"20 years ago, along with me, around 1,000 people started their journey as assistant directors. But now only 50 of them are in the film industry.

Success in the film industry is possible only if you go through various difficulties. But now, the OTT platform has become the domain of assistant directors. Most of the assistant directors have been using the OTT platform properly and accumulating various hits.

Whatever profession students choose not only in the film industry but also in the media industry, love them first. Spend your time with that business every day.

No one is born talented at birth. You have to learn new technologies and hone your skills. Technologies are changing day by day. Students have to adapt their knowledge accordingly.

This is how he spoke.

The ceremony was attended by music composer Jen Martin, lyricist and actor Aashif among others. A total of over 20 best short films were screened at the festival. This was followed by an interactive session with director and director Suseenthiran.
