The Primary Cooperative Bank Employees' Association staged a protest in Dharapuram demanding a 12-point charter of demands, including a hike in salaries and pension, for the employees of state primary cooperative banks in Tamil Nadu.
Tirupur: The Tamil Nadu State Primary Cooperative Bank All Employees Tirupur District Association staged a protest in front of the old municipality office in Dharapuram.
District president Elango led the protest. District secretary Basha and district treasurer Shanmugavel took the lead.
In this protest, the employees of the co-operative societies should be given regularisation and promotion sans delay. The seller should be paid a salary hike and selection level, special level of pay.
It was urged that the Government of Tamil Nadu should fulfil the 12-point charter of demands, including that the Government of Tamil Nadu should implement the same in Tamil Nadu on the lines of providing pension to all those working in primary credit cooperative societies in the neighbouring state of Kerala.
A large number of district and taluk level co-operative societies and members participated in the meeting.
