BJP state farmers' wing president Nagaraj appealed to party workers to draw the downtrodden to the BJP during a meeting of the Tirupur South district BJP's farmers' wing in Dharapuram.
Tirupur: Nagaraj, president of the BJP state farmers' branch, has stated that the BJP will only be able to gain power in Tamil Nadu if it gets the support of the downtrodden.
The Tirupur South district BJP's farmers' branch met in Dharapuram under the chairmanship of district president Vivekanandan. Nagaraj, the president of the Bjp state farmers' branch, was also present.
He stated on the occasion," If we want to change the vote banks of THE AIADMK and DMK, we must improve our relationship with the oppressed." We must look after them. The BJP can only gain power in Tamil Nadu if it has the backing of the oppressed.
Till date, the BJP succeeded in all of its commitments to farmers. As a result, the oppressed should be pulled to the BJP in both urban and rural areas.
The following resolutions were passed at this meeting:
1. The government should carry out the Anaimalai-Nallar project, which has long been requested by farmers and the general public.
2. During the rainy season, excess water from the Amaravathi river should be channelled into the Uppar, Vattamalai karai, and Nallathangal dams.
3. The local authority should keep stray dogs that hunt cattle under control.
4. The municipal administration should take steps to remove private vegetable businesses near the farmers' market since the farmers who have shops at the farmers' market are suffering.
5. A four-lane road has been built through the centre of Dharapuram town. As a result, accidents are on the rise, and action should be done immediately to identify an alternate route to avoid loss of life.
6. The government should buy coconuts directly from coconut growers and sell coconut oil in ration shops.
7. Aavin Company must set aside an additional amount for milk and make purchases.
8. The meeting opposes the President of Kangayam Town Council for removing only roadside vendor stalls in Kangayam.
9. On behalf of the farmers in the area, we demand that the Lower Bhavani Canal be built with a concrete floor.
Such resolutions were passed in this meeting. Hema Malini, vice-president of the DMDK's Tiruppur district women's section, abandoned the party and joined the BJP during the meeting.District treasurer Parthasarathy, district secretary Mouna Gurusamy, general secretary Sivabalan Selva Prabhu, and zonal town union office bearers were present.
