Counselling in the forest: A training centre experience in valparai!

A meeting was convened at the Attakkatti Training Center in Valparai in the presence of representatives from the police, electrical, and forest departments. The meeting covered the topic of preventing wildlife loss.



Coimbatore: In Valparai, a meeting was organised to examine ways to stop the extinction of species.



Discussions were held at the Attagatti training facility by representatives of the forest department, the electricity department, the revenue department, and the police from the Anaimalai tiger reserve's valparai, manam palli, pollachi, and ulandi forest ranges in Coimbatore district.



The meeting covered the topic of preventing electrocution deaths in elephants and other species.



According to the forest department, the killing of wild animals as a result of electric fence would be punishable with hard imprisonment for three to seven years under the Forest Act, 1972, in order to prohibit the building of electric fencing of agricultural areas without telling the electricity board.
