AIADMK whip S P Velumani, speaking in the Assembly, had demanded that passes be issued to MLAs to watch the IPL matches in Chennai. Responding to this, Minister Udhayanidhi said, "Talk to Jay Shah, who is the IPL chairman, and give it to us also."

Chennai: SP Velumani has demanded that the AIADMK MLAs should be given passes to watch the IPL matches in Chennai.

AIADMK whip S P Velumani, speaking in the Assembly today, said that the AIADMK MLAs should be given special passes to watch the IPL matches at the Chepauk stadium in Chennai.

In the previous regime, MLAs were given up to 400 passes. At present, it is not just given to AIADMK MLAs. We should also be given an opportunity to watch the IPL," he said.

Responding to SP Velumani's demand in the Assembly, Sports Development and Youth Welfare Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin said, “I’m buying 150 tickets from my own money and taking the kids from my constituency to IPL matches. The host of IPL is your close friend Amit Shah's son Jay Shah.

Talk to him and give five tickets to an MLA and we are ready to buy it by paying money," he said.
