Spectacular Chariot race at ooty Mariamman temple!

The festival is celebrated every year at the Ooty Mariamman Temple in the Nilgiris area. This year's event began on the 16th, and the chariot race was held in magnificent style today.


The Nilgiris: The Ooty Mariamman temple hosted a chariot racing. Ooty Mariamman Temple is a significant temple in the Nilgiris district.

Every day, a significant number of worshippers visit the temple, which is located in the centre of Ooty.

The temple's festival began on the 16th of last month with special poojas such as Kalasa Pooja and Poochorital.

A chariot race will be staged on behalf of many groups as part of the temple celebration for a month until the 21st of this month.

A ceremony was performed yesterday on behalf of the Baduga community. Ooty Mariamman, dressed as Hethai Amman, marched along the street in kamadhenu vahana on this occasion.

The chariot began at Mariamman Temple and proceeded down Commercial Road, passing Coffee House, Lower Bazaar, and Main Bazaar.

Following that, elaborate pujas to Amman were done. The Badugas took her on a pilgrimage through the streets clothed in their traditional clothes and danced during the event.
