Panchayat administration sets fire to garbage near Palladam, motorists suffer due to thick smoke

Panchayat employees set fire to plastic and medical debris dumped on the roadside near Palladam in Tiruppur district. Due to this, the entire area was covered with thick smoke, causing inconvenience to motorists and the general public.


Tirupur: At Mahalakshmi Nagar in Arumuthampalayam panchayat near Palladam in Tiruppur district, near the bus stop on the Palladam-Trichy National Highway, the panchayat administration has been dumping garbage for months and setting it on fire once a month.

In this situation, about two tonnes of medical waste, plastic waste and cloth waste, which had been dumped for more than 30 days, were set on fire on behalf of the panchayat administration.



The fire broke out in the garbage for more than 3 hours. As a result, a large amount of sugarcane came out of it.

As a result, the area was covered with smoke, causing a lot of inconvenience to the motorists. The public also suffered.



Palladam fire department personnel, who rushed to the spot on receiving the information, brought the fire, which was kept in the garbage, under control by beating the water.

The incident of the panchayat administration setting fire to the garbage dumped near the bus stop has shocked the people of the area.
