Surprise Inspection by Coimbatore municipal corporation commissioner - Development works in south and central zones

Corporation Commissioner Prathap instructed officials to complete the projects quickly and qualitatively after personally inspecting the different works being done in Coimbatore's South and Central zones.


Coimbatore: Corporation Commissioner Prathap inspected various works in coimbatore south and central zones.



Corporation Commissioner Prathap visited and inspected the newly constructed corporation public toilet works at a cost of Rs.25 lakh under the senthamamizh nagar SBM project under ward no.92 of Coimbatore South Zone, and he directed the concerned officer to complete the works expeditiously and qualitatively and put them to use.



Corporation Commissioner Prathap went and inspected the newly constructed anganwadi centre building at Idayarpalayam area under ward number 93 of Coimbatore South zone at an estimated cost of Rs 10.5 lakh from municipal development fund.



He personally visited the construction of new classrooms at Corporation Middle School, N P Itheri 9th Street, Ward No.95, Coimbatore South Zone, at a cost of Rs 63.50 lakh, and questioned about the progress.



He went to the newly built anganwadi centre on N P Itheri 9th street in Coimbatore South Zone Ward 95 and interacted with the children.



He alsovisited the anganwadi centre building, which is being built at a cost of Rs 13 lakh from the MLA Development Fund in the Chokkampudur region of Ward 77, South Zone.



He also inspected the grading and collection of biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste in the Sanganoor, R G Nagar, and Curd Itheri sectors of Coimbatore Central Zone's Ward 32.



He then directed the sanitation staff in the region to raise awareness among the local residents about the importance of separating garbage into biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste.



Following that, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner personally inspected the waste thrown on the roadside in Saibaba colony, Kannappan Nagar Railway Bridge, Central Zone Ward No 32.

He then asked the personnel in charge to remove the waste as soon as possible, install CCTV cameras on the streets to keep an eye on it,and put up awareness banners to discourage garbage dumping along roadsides.
